Getting there
Hamilton Island is the only island in the Great Barrier Reef with its own commercial airport. Direct flights operate daily from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns with Virgin Blue, Jetstar and Qantas. Regional charter flights are available from Mackay, Prosperine and Airlie Beach in Queensland. Ferries from Shute Harbour to Hamilton Island operate daily.
